Needed: 

 PSP8

 

Tube of your choice:

 

Filters:  Xero/Art Grain-Set 2

Here

Simple:    Quick Tile/4-Way Average/Diamonds

Here


Instructions:

 
Open your chosen tube in PSP.

With the eyedropper , pick two (2) colors. 

One WHITE and one darker color to be used for your borders.


Layers/add new Raster Layer.

Flood Fill  with white.

 Layers/Arrange/Send to bottom.

Layers/Merge/Merge all flatten.
Layers/Promote background to Layer.

Image/Resize and resize the newly made graphic

to approximately 250 wide or a size you wish.


Select your darker color and add this color to the color swatches.


Effects/Plugins/Simple/Quick Tile.


 Effects/Plugins/Simple/4-way Average.


Reduce the opacity to about 40% -50% depending

on the faded look you wish to have.


Layers/Merge/Merge all flatten.


 Image/Add Borders. 

If a box comes up asking to flatten image, check OK.

Click on the color box and find the color swatch you just added. Click OK

Add Borders/2 pixils, Symmetric CHECKED.


Promote background to Layer.

Effects/Plugins/Diamonds.


In the Materials Box, find your new pattern, make it active and click OK.


Open a new Image, 1024 X 1600.

Flood Fill  this image with your new Pattern.


With the selection tool , set the selection to rounded rectangle

 Begin in the top left corner. 

Start at about 180 horizontal and 180 vertical. 

Draw your selection down the entire image.


Selections/Invert.

While still selected, Layers/add new Raster Layer.


 Flood fill  with your chosen background color.


Effects/Plugins/Xero/Art Grain with the default settings of 127/30/127


Effects/3-D Effects/Drop Shadow.

Selections/Select none.


Image/Add Borders. 

Select the darker color you chose in the color box. 

10-Pixils TOP and LEFT.  The Right and Bottom set to 0.


With the Magic Wand  , select this new border.


Effects/3-D Effects/Drop Shadow as you did before.

Selections/Select none.

Layers/Promote background to Layer.
 
**NOTE:  This is optional, but if desired, you may now run this

through the JPG Optimizer to make it a smaller size file,  

save it then re-open it in PSP to continue.


Activate your tube/Edit/Copy.

Edit/Paste as a new selection in the upper left corner.


Effects/3-D Effects/Drop Shadow as before.

Selections/Select none.

 

Add your watermark.
Layers/Merge/Merge all flatten.
Save and assemble in Letter Creator.
