*Choose a new graphic or tube,  preferably not larger in width than 350 pixels.

Note:  The size of your tube/graphic will determine the finished size of your background design.

Resize both images if necessary.

Open your new tube/graphic in PSP8.

Windows/Duplicate your image twice and close the original.
*(If using a tube, duplicate, shrink one image and on the other,  flood fill on a new layer.

Layers/Send layer to bottom and merge all flatten.

This will give you a tube with a solid background and the appearance of a graphic.)

Make your solid graphic active.  Layers/Promote to background  if necessary.

This should get ride of unwanted lines.

Not every graphic does this, but if yours does this will fix it.

Using your dropper, click on your Pattern Box and select this last image with the Curlicues.

  Open a new Blank/Transparent image 1028 X the height of your graphic/tube.
Flood Fill with this newly selected pattern.

On your layers pallet, fade the image to a desired look.  I used 65% on this one.
