Needed: 

PSP 7 or 8 (this tutorial was written in PSP8)

Filters:

Xero:  Fritillary (in set 3)  I recommend downloading all 4 sets--great filters.

FM Tile Tools:  Seamless Tile

Simple Filters:  Quick Tile


 Choose a tube and open it in PSP.

 Duplicate this tube two times, close the original. 

Minimize one of the duplicate copies.


Check the size of your tube. 

Resize so the width is only 250 wide.


With your Eyedropper tool  pick a light color for your foreground color

and a darker or contrasting color for your background color.


 Layers/Add new raster layer.

 Flood Fill  your new raster layer with your lighter color.


Layers/Arrange/Move Down.

 Layers/Merge/Merge all flatten.


Effects/Plugins/Simple/Quick Tile.

 Layers/Promote to background layer.


 Reduce the Opacity to 30.


Layers/Merge/Merge all flatten.


Select this new Pattern in your Materials Box.

Layers/Merge/Merge all flatten


Minimize your image.

 


Make a new transparent image 1280 X 750 Pixels

Flood Fill  with your light foreground color.


 Effects/Plugins/Xero/Fritillary.


Add a new Layer.

With your Selections Tool , and your settings set to Ellipse/ Mode-Replace/Feather=0/Anti-Alias CHECKED,

Begin to make a selection at 375 pixels down the left edge. 

Pull your Ellipse selection out until you reach 300 pixels in to your background

and then down, until the top and bottom of your ellipse are at the top

and bottom of your background image.


Flood Fill  your selected 'selection' image with your pattern.


While still selected, apply your drop shadow.

Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow

While still selected,

Selections/Modify/Expand 20 Pixels.

While still selected, Layers/Add a new Raster Layer.


Flood Fill with your darker background color or a gradient.


While still selected, Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow as you did before.


In your Layers Pallet, move Layer three so it is beneath layer 2 but on top of layer 1.

Selections/Select none. 


 

 

Layers/Merge/merge all flatten.


Effects/FM tile tools/Seamless Tile

 


 Activate your remaining tube copy.

Edit/copy

 Edit/Paste as a new selection. 


Move it in to position on top of your ellipse.


Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow as before.

Selections/select none.

Apply your watermark and save as a jpg for assembly in Letter Creator.
