Needed for this Tutorial:

PSP8

Filter:  Xero/Fruitillary

A Tube that you like.

Open PSP8 and your selected tube in to PSP8.

Window/Duplicate.  Close your original.

With your Eyedropper tool  pick a light color and a dark color from your tube image.

With your tube still open, File/Export/Custom Brush   *a window will open if your tube is too large

and tell you to resize it so nither the width or height is more than 500 pixels.

Resize if necessary.

The "Create Brush Tip" box will open.

Name your new brush and click OK.  Minimize your tube for now.

 Open a New transparant image 1280 X 750

Flood fill  with your lighter color.

Click on the Brush button .  Select your new brush (your tube image).

Make your dark color your foreground color.

On your new flood filled image, make a single brush image.

Place it about 600 pixels X 425.  It is a little off center of your background image but that's ok.

Effects/Plugins/Xero/Fritillary.

Click the arrow  on your tool bar to deselect the Brush tool.

Activate your tube image.

 Edit/Copy

On your background image, Edit/Paste as a new selection.

If your tube is too large, resize it to about 75% or your brush image.

This is a personal choice.  I try to keep my tubes so they don't spread past 350 pixels

in to the background image from the left side, in order to allow sufficient text space when you use the letter.
