There are a couple ways to apply masks in PSP8, but I
have found this to be the easiest.
Open both your graphic and your mask in PSP8 I call my file "MASKS")
Shrink to your clipboard (Minimize)

Activate your Graphic:
Layers/New Mask Layer/From Image
![]() In your Layers Pallet, the Mask-Raster 1 will be highlighted. Right click on this highlighted image and select "Delete"
![]() When the box is visible, it will ask if you want this image to merge with the one below, click "Yes"

That's all there is to using a Mask... it is ready to
copy and paste on to your background image.
Hints:
Your background image should be 1024 X the height of your graphic.
If your mask is a top or bottom design mask and you want
to use it as a side mask as shown in the tutorial, Highlight your mask
image, then go to Image/Rotate/ and rotate it to where you want the
design. Shrink it to your clipboard (Minimize).
